Hello, sorry for lack of updates, been a very busy week that's mainly been about getting a new job.
But before all that business, I must fill you in on the cricket last Saturday. There were two things that Pete and Si had chosen not to tell me about last week's game, namely that the team we were playing had one of the fastest bowlers in village cricket and that helmets would be required. Nice. Anyhoo, i didn't trouble the scorers I'm afraid, I was spectacularly caught on my second ball by a particularly athletic fielder. Oh well, no justice is there? We lost by 4 wickets in the end, we only had ten men, mind.
Great day tho, went to a lovely pub in Castle Combe afterwards, it' gorgeous little village about 4/5 miles outside of Bath which also happens to have a major racing track. The cricket pitch was just over the road form the track and we were treated to the sound of highly revved engines and big skids all the way through the match, idyllic England at its best.
Big news this week has been that I've got anew job. I'm finally leaving the council after nearly ten years of 87 days off a year to go and work in Queens Square in Bath, looking forward to it.
Its the start of the football season today, praise be. Come on Arsenal. Hopefully Sunderland can do us all a favour and embarrass Spuz this lunchtime and I fancy Villa to do Liverpool this evening, too; although my predictions on this website have been less than reliable thus far...
